Some things that irritate me

I work in a library that was built in 1991, so the furnishings are a little out of date. The carpet is a faded pinky-grey color, the furniture is drab grey and maroon and there are these depressing vertical blinds on the windows. But the windows themselves are lovely, floor to ceiling, practically wall to wall with gorgeous hilltop views of San Marcos and the surrounding area. Plus they bring sunshine in to my relatively dank work area, so I love these windows. But for some reason the stupid college students always close the disgusting vertical blinds, covering up the view and the sunshine and high lighting said depressing blinds. I know not everyone likes bright light, but there are places in the library that don't get much sun at all, they should take their, vampire-selves there and leave my windows alone. On top of this, our floor is a group study floor, which means people, including the staff, can speak in their normal voices. So why is it we have noise complaints about 3 times a week, when it is clearly posted that this is a GROUP STUDY aka "loud" floor.

In other news I have now lost a little more than 18 pounds, so yay for me. All my clothes are really loose and I hope to fit into some of my smaller clothes by Christmas. I have a dilemma though. I don't know whether to ask for new clothes for Christmas, because I will probably be too small for them in a couple of months. Maybe I should just ask for a vacuum cleaner, or knives or one of the many things I need in my home or kitchen. I don't know.
